Profile

In 2002 to 2008, Timo-Kolja Pfoertner studied social science (Diploma) at the University of Cologne. He subsequently wrote his PhD-thesis between 2008 and 2011 as a scholar in the Research Training Group „Social Order and Life Chances in Cross-National Comparison“ at the University of Cologne. His doctoral thesis was about “Poverty and Health in Europe”. After graduation, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Medical Sociology at the University of Halle (Saale) and worked among other things in an EU-funded project called “SILNETackling socio-economic inequalities in smoking: learning from natural experiments”. Since October 2014, he is research assistant at the IMVR.

Currently, Mr. Pförtner teaches as a substitute professor at the Research Methods Department of the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Cologne (https://www.hf.uni-koeln.de/41676)
