Kurzbiographie

Timo-Kolja Pförtner studierte von 2002 bis 2008 Sozialwissenschaften (Diplom) an der Universität zu Köln. Im Anschluss promovierte er zwischen 2008 und 2011 als Stipendiat der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft im Rahmen des Graduiertenkollegs „Sozialordnungen und Lebenschancen im internationalen Vergleich“ an der Universität zu Köln zum Thema „Armut und Gesundheit in Europa“. Anschließend war er zwischen 2011 und 2014 als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Medizinische Soziologie an der Universität Halle (Saale) tätig, unter anderem am EU-geförderten Projekt „SILNE-Tackling socio-economic inequalities in smoking: learning from natural experiments“ beteiligt.

Seit Oktober 2014 ist er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am IMVR.

Derzeit lehrt Herr Pförtner als Vertretungsprofessor am Arbeitsbereich Forschungsmethoden der Humanwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität zu Köln
