Laura Mause studied Speech and Language Pathology (B. A., 2012-2015) and Health Services Research (M. Sc., 2016-2018) at the University of Cologne. Following her bachelor thesis concerning the effects of ageing on the productive reading ability, she worked as a speech and language pathologist in an interdisciplinary therapy centre specialised in neurologic disorders and tracheostomy tube management.

Subsequently, she worked as a student assistant at IMVR during her master studies and supported the establishment and coordination of the competence network CoRe-Net (funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research). In her master thesis she conducted a secondary data analysis regarding the use of mechanical thrombectomy in patients with ischemic stroke in Germany.

Since June 2019, Laura Mause has been working as a research associate at IMVR in the project Neo-CamCare which evaluates the use of webcams in neonatal intensive care units.
